*Please Drink Responsibly*
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the CEO of Pura Vida Tequila, as well as attend the Rockstar UpRoar Music Festival and meet Godsmack. If you haven’t read about my experience you can read about it here. As part of this wonderful experience I also received the opportunity to review Pura Vida Tequila and create recipes using the tequila. I have a few recipes I am going to share with you, but first let me tell you a little about Pura Vida Tequila. Pura Vida (which means pure life or the good life in spanish) goes all the way back to 1923. Imagine being in Mexico and on one of the agave fields located in the Highlands of Jalisco. There we find Feliciano Vivanco and his brother, Emilio. Well long story short, Emilio got into something that he should not have and was killed. Feliciano was not like his brother and became a local hero. He worked hard developing one of the finest drinking tequilas. Fast forward to today. Feliciano Vivanco IV still carries on the tradition. I know you are thinking… but wait… isn’t the CEO’s name Stewart Skloss??!! You are right. His love of Texas and Mexico took him back to the agave fields. He spent many years sampling every type of tequila known to man and eventually found Feliciano. They hit it off and Feliciano shared his famous and secret tequila recipe. They formed a partnership and Pura Vida Tequila was born.
There are 5 types of Pura Vida Tequila. They are:
Pura Vida Silver: This tequila is triple distilled and crystal clear. It has a very smooth taste and will definitely warm up your body. This was my favorite by far. It is a very easy drinking tequila and goes perfect with pretty much anything. You can head over and purchase a bottlehere for only $33.99.
Pura Vida Reposado: This amber tequila is triple distilled and 100% Blue Agave Tequila. It has a slight pepper taste and is very rich. Due to the slight pepper taste, this tequila is perfect for more salty type drinks, especially the Bloody Maria. You can head over and purchase a bottle here for only $37.99.
Pura Vida Añejo: This amber tequila is triple distilled and is aged to perfection for a minimum of 1 year in a Kentucky bourbon barrel. This was my husbands favorite because it does have that burned barrel taste to it. This tequila is also very smooth and easy to drink. This tequila was perfect for a margarita. You can head over and purchase a bottle here for only $39.99.
Pura Vida Extra Añejo: This deep golden amber tequila is aged for five years in a second generation Cognac barrel. This was my second favorite tequila. It has a little spice taste to it, while having the wood barrel taste to it. This tequila is very smooth, so drink it responsibly. You can head over and purchase a bottle here for only $75.99.
Pura Vida Naranja: This is an Orange Liqueur and taste great in a handmade margarita. Not only does this taste great by it self, but it also taste great in many of the top mixed drinks. It is a very smooth drink with a nice citrus flavor. You can head over and purchase a bottle here.
